What is Visibility Monitoring?
Visibility Monitoring is a feature that allows transport tracking via GPS and automatic reporting of order status. It works without the need for additional actions from the carrier. Thanks to cooperation with our technology partners, carriers equipped with a GPS system can start using monitoring immediately, without complicated configuration – everything works automatically and in real time.
Does transport monitoring mean control? We dispel carriers’ concerns.
Many carriers fear that vehicle monitoring may involve excessive supervision, limited independence, or unclear use of data. Nothing could be further from the truth! Visibility Monitoring is designed to bring benefits to carriers, not harm them. The system is not intended to control drivers, but to streamline transport processes, such as fast and seamless status updates without interfering with the carriers’ operational decisions.
Carriers often worry that sharing vehicle location means all their actions will be under constant control. However, monitoring is limited to tracking key order parameters, without interfering with the carrier’s operational decisions. The carrier retains full autonomy in executing their orders.
Another important issue is the use of data that is actually collected solely for the purpose of monitoring order parameters in accordance with privacy protection principles.
With Visibility Monitoring, carriers gain the opportunity to build trust in their relationships with contractors and increase their chances of cooperation with key partners who appreciate transparency and professionalism.
Benefits of transport monitoring
Although sharing the vehicle’s location may seem disadvantageous to some, Visibility Monitoring offers numerous benefits, including:
1. Protection of your interests
Thanks to the analysis of the vehicle’s location in real time, the system automatically provides key information, such as:
- ETA (Estimated Time of Arrival) – expected time of arrival.
- Events that may affect the execution of the order (e.g. prolonged unloading time and other difficulties).
This data helps to meet the expectations of the clients as well as minimizes the risk arising from unforeseen circumstances.
2. New order opportunities
Many contractors require monitoring as a standard part of cooperation. Visibility Monitoring enables carriers to meet these expectations, making them more competitive and granting them access to more profitable orders.
3. Improved communication and dispute resolution
Transport monitoring increases the transparency of cooperation, allowing carriers to provide evidence of on-time arrival or delays resulting from specific issues on the route or during unloading. This reduces the risk of misunderstandings between parties and makes dispute resolution faster and more efficient.
4. Automatic order documentation
Transport monitoring helps document order execution and build relationships with reliable partners.
5. Faster unloading thanks to vehicle location access
Sometimes, a driver arrives on time or just a bit late due to traffic jams. While waiting in the queue for unloading, they need to contact various parties (their boss, carrier, forwarder). Transport monitoring helps the contractor better get ready for the vehicle’s arrival and prepare the unloading slot for the driver faster. In case of issues on the route, the slots can be adjusted in real time.
6. Automatic location update
While driving, the driver does not have time to constantly update the client about their location. Thanks to the Visibility Monitoring feature, the driver does not have to provide information about the location of the load, which saves valuable time. Everyone can see where the vehicle is, and in case of a dispute, the driver has proof of timely arrival.
7. Quick implementation and ease of use
Monitoring on the Trans.eu Platform is fully integrated with existing GPS systems. Carriers do not need to take additional steps to accept orders with monitoring. Everything works automatically, saving time and resources.
8. Increased customer trust
By providing contractors with transparent information about the progress of transport, you build your credibility as a reliable business partner. Transport monitoring helps you establish lasting relationships with clients, increasing the chances for long-term cooperation.
How to start using Visibility Monitoring?
Using the Visibility Monitoring function is simple and intuitive. If you already have a GPS system and an account with our technology partner, Project 44, there is nothing more you need to do – monitoring will activate automatically. The full functionality is available for free to carriers using the Trans.eu Platform.
Additionally, carriers who complete an order with monitoring for the first time will be marked with the “Provides GPS” symbol, confirming the availability of monitoring. This label is an additional asset in building trust and attracting new contractors.
After completing a transport order with GPS monitoring enabled, the system automatically analyzes delivery timeliness data. Based on precise GPS data, the carrier can receive a badge confirming the punctuality of their services. The Punctuality Certificate reflects the percentage of on-time deliveries:
- 99% punctuality – the highest level of reliability, ensuring almost perfect punctuality.
- 97% punctuality – very high quality of services with minor deviations.
- 95% punctuality – a solid level of punctuality meeting industry standards.
These certificates help the carrier build a professional image as well as gain a competitive edge. Additionally, the carrier can choose whether they want the certificate to be public and displayed on their company profile on the Platform.
Summary
Visibility Monitoring is a simple, intuitive feature that can provide a competitive advantage, leading to more orders and greater trust of contractors. Transparency, automation and ease of use make monitoring a natural support in the daily work of carriers. Start using this feature today and unlock new opportunities in the transport market.
